The beginning of the year brought some pretty fun and exciting changes in the church.
During October General Conference President Nelson announced a new Family study and at home learning program called "Come Follow Me" with it came the two hour church block instead of three.
Weeks after this announcement, the prophet also announced that 11 years old boys who would be turning 12 in the 2019 would moved directly into Young Men's and receive the priesthood at the beginning of the year. This was quite exciting for our family since Jase just turned 11 in November and that meant would be moving out of primary and taking on the responsibilities of the Aaronic priesthood at the beginning of the new year.
Wow that kid is just growing up too fast, but I am also incredibly grateful for his example to our family and for his worthiness and willingness to step up to the prophets call! Exciting times! Also, got him behind the wheel of the F150. What a dude!
Yep---too big too fast! YIKES!
Also in January, I had the opportunity to go to Vegas with some of my girls for a fun weekend and to attend a parenting conference put on by Ralphie from Simply on Purpose!
This left Ryan and home with all the kids to play Mister Mom- which the kids love...
Party all day and sleep-overs and Star Wars every night!
Meanwhile in Vegas :
I think Cher captioned this photo perfectly "Tired as a mother!" We are definitely not the typical Vegas party animals, our flight took it out on us and we were exhausted that first night.
But the next day we rubbed shoulders with some celebrities ;) The was museum was a lot of fun!
The Chinese festival was going on and it is the year of the pig- which is good for me, because I learned I was born in the year of the pig. All of us got out our phones to discover what our Zodiac signs meant and we were actually all a little stunned how accurate they were!
On the Vegas observation wheel that mimics the London Eye- called The High Roller
Was super excited about this conference and meeting Ralphie. She is so great and I definitely took home some great ideas and notes.
More in January...
Things are coming along on the property VERY slowly, but we've finally been seeing some work on the land. Ryan loves to go up and check on it every few days- and as they've cleared away a lot of trees and forest, it left behind lots of mud- which Ryan learned the hard way that you CAN actually get a truck stuck in the mud. It took all the Anderson boys and their trucks to get him out as well as Chad who ended up stuck trying to get Ryan out!
I think Ryan secretly enjoyed this little adventure!
