Lovey Dovey Silly Things!

Some people don't love Valentines- it's cheesy and cliche and just another way to spend money, but I love it- I mean any chance to celebrate love, show love, give love is a good thing-right!!!

Our little group of friends were discussing how we used to do all kinds of fun silly things with the kiddos when they were younger.  But now that a lot of them have grown, the new little ones don't get all the fun stuff as much because we're busier and maybe a little burnt out.  So we decided we need to try to do more fun things with the little guys while the big kid are in school.  

So naturally we had to do some cookie decorating for Valentines!

I forgot how much fun it is to do this with little kids- it's messy, but worth it!  Cutest thing ever watching their concentration and focus as they try all the frosting and sprinkles and of course seeing the smiles on their faces when they get to taste test a few!

Then of course we had to decorate some boxes for the older kids and send Valentines off to school!  Maycee's was a heart cat and Jase's was sports!

And then for the love of my life- we went out a day early since Valentines was on a Sunday this year.  We enjoyed dinner and dessert and just really good conversation- which, with our busy lives, we don't get that often.  It was a really nice- exactly what I wanted.  Just a break to hang and talk!  

Sunday we had a quick get together with all the friends again for deserts and a silly gift for the guys!

On our last girl night out we all discovered a similar problem our guys have ;)...the amount of time they spend in the bathroom lol!  So we though up a punny little gift for them.

They each got a Squatty potty with a cute little tag attached to it that read:

"I'm not giving you crap. I stinking love you a butt load!"

as well as a sign to hang in the bathroom:

"Wipe it up n' Roll out"

It was all in good fun, but I think most of the guys actually really loved it!

Aren't we funny haha!  But seriously I can't talk about love and not mention these girl either- They are some of the best!

It was a great Valentine's Weekend!
I am truly blessed with a lot of people in my life that I love so dearly.
Especially that really amazing man that married me 12 and a half years ago!!!
To have a love that never stops growing is the best kind of love indeed!

Joe and Jessica Visit!

My younger brother and his wife came to visit us the last part of January.  I was so happy they came- we don't get to see them very often and they are missed!!!

We lucked out with some beautiful weather while they were here and enjoyed some outdoor time at the Dallas Zoo and of course we had to make a visit to the Stockyards!

I love my brother so much- he is one of the greatest guys!  I'm so happy they made the time to drive all the way out here to visit before their move to Idaho!
