Adult-Sized Jumperoo and other Saturday Adventures

Yesterday we ventured out to a different mall about 20 minutes away, mostly for the sake of something different, but we also heard they had a little indoor play place for kids. It turns out I ended up enjoying a play place of my own.

So I saw this huge jumpy attraction when we walked in and there were a few younger kids jumping in it. Suddenly I decided this would be my January "surprise myself" goal. I would get into this contraption and jump to my hearts content- maybe even attempt a flip.
Turns out I was the only adult to do this along with four other kids like ages 5-8. Ha ha, but I was determined to just be a kid again.
It was a blast. Seriously gave me butterflies jumping up that high and...

... I attempted and completed the back-flip several times:).
ANYWAY- on to the real kids. The indoor place was a blast too. Just a huge open room with turf and car and balls and slides and bouncy houses and children running wild. This was basically Jase's face the whole time- running crazy from one thing to the next.
Once Maycee got used to crawling on the turf- she loved it too and had her fill of walking. That's right the little one is starting to take her first steps and loves it. She is especially on the go just holding onto the back of anything with wheels.
and... for dinner we had pizza and ice cream. It was truly a fun filled day of just being kids!

Bathroom Giggles

Maycee's favorite place in the whole house? The Bathroom. She is particularly drawn to the toilet and trash can. Why? WHY? Anyway...
The other day after Jase finished using the potty- he opened the door and I guess Maycee crawled inside and Jase shut the door behind them. I didn't really realize she'd gone in the bathroom until I hear both kids giggling away in there.

I go to find out what's going on and discover this...
Maycee in the trash, of course, and Jase is getting mouthfuls of water from his sippy and spitting it out onto Maycee's head.
You can't tell from the pictures, but Maycee, the toilet, and bathroom floor are all soaked.

It's tough trying to capture pictures of your kids doing funny things while still trying to get the point across that this is not okay!

Snow Day...make that 'dayS'

We have a lot of snow. Last Wednesday it snowed about 18-20 inches. It was a full blown blizzard and all schools were cancelled including Tufts. So we enjoyed a family fun day indoors, but when the skies cleared, we got out for some major snow fun.

Snow Ball fights
Tubing
Snow Angel making
and just climbing through it was fun as it went up past mine and Ryan's knees in some spot.
Poor little Maycee wasn't as excited about her first snow adventure as we thought... it's COLD here, and the snow just keeps on coming! We are in the full swing of winter!

Never Say Die!

Every year for Christmas- Ryan's family always puts together a family theme to go with our Christmas Eve pajama's. This year the theme was from the Goonies- "Never Say Die!" We got pirate pj's and stuff and then went on a crazy "Amazing Race" type race. It was lots of fun and Jase loved being a pirate.

I thought this was a great theme- and it's our goal to live by it this year. We want to live life more to the fullest. Never giving up, always having hope. Working harder, playing hard, loving more, and living more!
A few more random pics from Christmas.
We visited family- this is Jase with 2nd cousin Keaton (believe it or not, they are only a few weeks apart)

We were also glad to see Ryan's grandpa Daryl- he's such a neat guy!

Resolutions: New & Reviewed

2010: I wanted to do something to surprise myself every month. I came pretty close.

January: I bore my testimony in sacrament meeting
February: I got my ears pierced
March: I actually grew my nails out nice and long
April: I gave birth NATURALLY
May: finally was able to surprise Ryan for his b-day
June: Went camping with a 2 month old
July: successfully potty trained my first kid
August: Tried surfing behind a boat
September: Ran a half marathon
October: Officially got over my fear of shots
November: turned 27:p
December: Finished out the year by bearing my testimony again in sacrament meeting

okay okay- so there where a few months in there that I didn't really do something too surprising, but I can definitely say that this year I really did stretch myself beyond what I thought I could do. I learned a lot about myself and my capabilities as well as my limits and it was a great year.
So... this year I want to have this goal again. However, to make it a little more successful I'm going to set a few specific things I want to get done.
-share the gospel with a non member friend
- run a few more races
- complete the full 90 days of p90x
-take singing lessons
- learn to take better pictures
- grow out hair
- go dancing with Ryan (we're in Boston- there's gotta be fun classes we can take or a club somewhere)
...also this year,
I feel like Jase is really starting to learn and understand so much that I really want to get on top of having FHE. We do it sporatically, but I feel strongly that it really needs to become a big part of our lives and something my kids can count on every Monday.
So here's to 2011- Happy New Year everyone!

Hair Do

If you haven't noticed, we've been growing Jase's hair out for the last few months. I haven't decided what I think of it.
I love it when he's fresh out of the shower and it's all laying flat and a little wet- he looks SO cute, but when he wakes up in the mornings like this:

well...then I usually just want to cut it all off- ha ha!
p.s. that hair is impossible to comb down- even when I spray a little water on it

The Holidays

The holidays were really busy for us, but what's new right?! Sorry I've haven't posted in almost a month. Here are a few random pictures from the festivities this year. We took a lot of video rather than pictures and once again, I wish I'd taken more pics. So here to a New Years Resolution to take more pictures.

We made the traditional "ginger" bread house with Jase

Flew home to Utah and stayed with my family then the Anderson
It was pretty weird weather while we were there in Saint George. It rained A LOT, but Jase insisted we go outside for some bubbles.

We visited Santa in the mall. This year was definitely less tramatic for Jase. He was really looking forward to sitting on his lap and telling him that he wanted a Robot this year. But afterward when we walked away, Jase started to cry. When we asked what was wrong, he said, "I didn't get my Robot." He thought he would get it right away. Poor kid, no wonder he was so anxious to see the big guy. Needless to say we, explained the whole Santa, Elf, and presents, process to him.
We did all our shopping in Boston before going back to Utah- it made the holiday break less stressful, but it was a crazy haul of luggaeg at the airport!
and
this is what Christmas shopping does to our kids.

and the shopping wouldn't be complete without grabbing a delious bread bowl of clam chowder after being out in the freezing Boston cold.
We took some more fun pictures with Ryan's new phone- so I will try to upload those later.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are having a great New Year!
