Magic

Last year we did not get a Christmas Tree- we didn't decorate at all. The reasoning was that we were going home for Christmas and it didn't seem necessary. However, I learned that it is in fact a necessary part of this beautiful holiday. Last year, it just didn't feel like Christmas until we actually went home and by then we were just days away from Christmas morning. In my opinion, this holiday is all about the entire season of Christmas and we had missed out on one of the most basic and fun traditions- getting and decorating a tree.

Needless to say that this year I insisted we get a tree even though we are going home again.
Hunting for the perfect 2009 Tree!
Getting it home

After purchasing the tree, lights, and a few ornaments- there wasn't much else we could get in the way of decorations with our limited budge. However, with inspiration from the movie "Elf" and Nikki's snowflake cutting skills, the room transformed into a warm and cozy Christmas masterpiece!

and at night...

our living room becomes a pretty magical place!

A New (and growing) Playground!

At the end of the day I am tired.
Exhausted actually.
But, Jase seems to have all the energy in the world.
So as I rest, the ever protruding "home" for Maycee becomes a playground for Jase!
I love that they're already learning to share:)

How Does This Happen?

One minute you're here...

and the next, you're throwing a 2 year birthday party!

I can't believe this little dude is TWO!
Jase loves the Disney movie Cars- so naturally we had to have a Cars themed party!

Here I had the boys take turns racing cardboard box cars! (I just love the look on Jase's face- he was smiling like this the whole time)

vroom vroom!

Making a wish!

The kiddos- Jase, Hudson, Cate, Logan

Opening presents- Jase LOVED all his Cars stuff! Thanks everyone for coming and making it so fun!
